Mabey Hire’s bridge monitoring service uses continuous, real-time systems to track a bridge’s structural health by detecting movements, vibrations, and strain. Their bespoke solutions include full monitoring schemes and targeted component checks (e.g. bearings, cracks, abutments, piers, expansion joints).

Data is fed into their Insite web portal so engineers can monitor performance remotely. They also combine monitoring with their propping and jacking capabilities to support safe, controlled maintenance or remedial work.

Bridge crack monitoring

Crack monitoring is a key part of bridge structural health, as cracks often indicate emerging defects. Our tailored monitoring solutions track crack behaviour in real time, providing more accurate insight than visual inspections and helping detect potential failures early to keep bridges safe.

Bearing monitoring

Our bearing monitoring systems detect potential damage from environmental factors, road residue, or fatigue, which can threaten the bridge deck and piers. Using displacement sensors and real-time data, we identify maintenance needs, plan costs, and ensure safety. We also monitor concrete temperature to track thermal expansion and contraction.

Expansion Joint
