UK Paper Mill
When a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) survey was carried out to a paper machine at one of the UK’s remaining paper mills, it was found that the press frame on the machine was in need of replacement.
Scotland
As part of expansion works to a Scottish Distillery in the east region of the country, major ground excavation works were required, as well as the construction of a new retaining wall that stretched for 100 metres in length. With the proposed enabling works featuring a complex combination of both temporary and permanent elements, Burnside turned to our engineering expertise for support.

Water of Leith, Edinburgh
The Water of Leith is the main river flowing through Edinburgh. Though picturesque, it’s been the cause of severe flooding in the nearby residential areas over the years. After Edinburgh experienced its worst flooding in 80 years, three walls along the Water of Leith collapsed. City of Edinburgh Council took action and appointed Lagan Construction to build £11.5million of flood defences along a 2.5km stretch of the river.
